# 🎨 Display Properties

## 📙 Definition

This page describes the **display parameters** that affect the properties of Display Entities.\
When loading a block, the summon commands is modified, adding the properties defined in this section.

📖 For more details on Display Entity data, see the [Minecraft Wiki](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Display#Entity_data).

***

## ✨ Glowing

The **`glowing`** parameter enables or disables entity glow.\
Glowing makes the entity’s outline visible, even through blocks.

📌 **Example:**

```yaml
display:
  glowing: true
```

***

## 🎨 Glow Color Override

The **`glow-color-override`** parameter sets the color of the entity’s glow.\
Supports three formats:

* **Decimal ABGR** (default Minecraft command format, e.g., `234543`)
* **Named color** (e.g., `red`, `yellow`)
* **Hexadecimal** (e.g., `c8c4c2`)

📌 **Example:**

```yaml
display:
  glow-color-override: 3134F5
```

***

## 👁️ View Range

The **`view-range`** parameter (float) defines the maximum distance at which the entity is visible.\
If the distance exceeds:

```
<view_range> × <entityDistanceScaling> × 64
```

…the entity will no longer render.

📌 **Example:**

```yaml
display:
  view-range: 3.35
```

***

## 🧭 Billboard

The **`billboard`** parameter controls how the entity is rendered relative to the camera.

Available values:

* `fixed` → both vertical and horizontal angles are fixed
* `vertical` → rotates around the vertical axis
* `horizontal` → rotates around the horizontal axis
* `center` → rotates around the central point

📌 **Example:**

```yaml
display:
  billboard: vertical
```

***

## 🌑 Shadow

#### Radius

The **`shadow-radius`** parameter (float) sets the radius of the entity’s shadow circle.

* Range: **0 → 64**

📌 **Example:**

```yaml
display:
  shadow-radius: 4.65
```

#### Strength

The **`shadow-strength`** parameter (float) controls shadow opacity depending on the distance to the block below.

📌 **Example:**

```yaml
display:
  shadow-strength: 2.3
```

***

## 💡 Brightness

The **`brightness`** section overrides light values used for rendering.\
It has two sub-parameters:

* `sky` → sky light level
* `block` → block light level

📌 **Example:**

```yaml
display:
  brightness:
    sky: 5
    block: 11
```

***

## 📐 Translation

The **`translation`** section allows adjusting **position** and **rotation offsets** for the display entity.

Parameters:

* `x`, `y`, `z` → position offsets ([see the transformation translation section](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Display#Entity_data)). Only affect the display position; the entities itself does not change its position.
* `yaw`, `pitch` → values added to the entity’s rotation when the block is placed

📌 **Example:**

```yaml
display:
  translation:
    x: 0.54
    y: 2.3
    z: 1.23
    yaw: 128
    pitch: 30
```

***

✅ These parameters give you full control over how your custom block is displayed in the world, beyond just the summon command.
